This game is purposely broken up into various 'books' you'll need to play.
Each book focuses on a particular part of the game; such as the basic rules, or magic, or items, or how to be a GM.
This was to create more opportunities for fun art and story, and to make room for those who may wish to create their own books to expand the game with new ideas and options.
